Photos & review by Frank Piercy July 18, 2015 There were people there who thought LA Guns were going to be playing. There were people who thought Tracii Guns was playing, there were people who thought Tracii Guns version of LA Guns were playing. They were all wrong. It was GUNZO! Gunzo consists of Tracii Guns on Guitar, Rudy Sarzo on Bass, Keith St. John on vocals and Shane Fitzgibbons on drums. Your talking guys who have played with LA Guns, Quiet Riot, Ozzy, Dio, Montrose, Whitesnake. They were fantastic! How often do you get to hear the whole audience sing a whole set listRead More →

Photos & Review by Frank Piercy July 18, 2015 I have never seen the Bulletboys live until this night. Granted Marq Torien is the only original member, they still sounded great and really worked the stage pushing their new album “Elefante”. Marq has a boundless energy that had him dancing all over the stage. Backing him up are Nick Rozz on rhythm guitar; Chad MacDonald on bass; Shawn Duncan on drums. All I could say was wow! They put one great show, the energy was exciting and made me want to get up and jump around. They sounded tight and played all the crowd favorites,Read More →

WHITESNAKE – THE PURPLE TOUR July 22, 2015 Casino Ballroom Hampton Beach, NH Much has changed since the days of the summer of 1987 when Whitesnake’s self titled album that was released that year and was one of my most worn out cassette tapes of that time. Fast forward to 2015, Whitesnake is still out there making and performing some great music. One thing that has not changed since then is the musical talents of David Coverdale and Whitesnake in the summer of 2015 as part of The Purple Album tour. The Casino Ballroom at Hampton Beach is an amazing place to take in aRead More →

Photos & Review by Frank Piercy July 3, 2015 Friday afternoon, I am sitting at home wondering what to do. Heart is playing at Foxwoods, Broadside is playing in Hamden, Living Colour is playing at the Wolf Den. Decisions, decisions, decisions… I went with the no brainer, go see a band you haven’t seen live before, at a venue that is free, if I get there in time.  Leaving my house at five with a drive of just over an hour there was no guarantee I would get into the Den. The drive down to Uncasville was unbelievably quiet and smooth. I should’ve known something wasRead More →

Photos & Review by Frank Piercy July 1, 2015 Imagine my surprise when I was asked if I would be interested in shooting a Punk Pop band called Broadside, a new group out of Richmond Virginia that Alternative Press recently named one of the 100 need to know bands of 2015. Broadside was playing at a place called My Pizza Place. It has been years since I have seen a scene like this, amps and drums and poor lighting set up in a pizza place. It brought back memories of some of the places I visited some 25 years ago. The age difference was definitelyRead More →

On April 30th, 2015, Faster Pussycat fans came out to The Palladium in Worcester to see this legendary act perform.  Not only did the fans get an amazing Faster Pussycat show, they got five supporting, opening bands before it.  The show was packed with music, for what the price of admission was.  It was a night of music, with four local New England bands and Love Blast, the touring support act for Faster Pussycat. The music began at 7 PM with a band from western Massachusetts, Reflecting Darkness.  They played a short set of several songs.  Check out their Facebook page at Reflecting Darkness.  Read More →

Photos & Review by Frank Piercy April 29, 2015 Two bands I have enjoyed seeing perform live have been out touring this spring, and they actually came together for one night in Manchester at a small club called The Jewel Nightclub in Manchester New Hampshire. The Jewel is a small club that holds between 400 to 450 from what the guy working the door told me, and that night they were expecting it to be close to capacity.  I have been to many small clubs in my time, Legendary Dobbs was the first to come to mind, but The Jewel feels bigger than there but stillRead More →

QUEENSRYCHE Mohegan Sun Casino – Wolf Den Uncasville, Connecticut May 1, 2015 Photos & Review by Dan Wenc If you have ever seen Queensryche live, you know that they put on a great show.  Having seen them twice in 1991 and once in 2006, and now seeing them in 2015, I was absolutely blown away at the most recent performance on May 1, 2015 at the Wolf’s Den at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.  This was the first time I have seen the new version of Queensryche with Todd La Torre on vocals and Parker Lundgren on guitar. Lundgren put on a very enthusiasticRead More →

The Palladium is known as one of Worcester’s long time music and entertainment landmarks on Main Street. Photos & Review by Frank Piercy  April 10,  2015  During my teen years in the 80’s, I learned about bands like, Motley Crue, W.A.S.P., Ratt, Quiet Riot, Accept and so many more. Every month I was picking up the music mags out at the time, Hit Parader, Circus, Creem, Rip.  One of the things each of these had in common was that like everything they had to sell ads raise money to cover the costs of printing them. Remember ripping the posters out the middle or cutting out the pages to hang on your wall. Well one of the things that sticks out in myRead More →
