September 27, 2015 Sunday night September 27th, was the night of a Super Blood Moon. A full lunar eclipse, a Blood Moon, coupled with the Moon being closer to the Earth than normal, a Super Moon, but that wasn’t what I was at the Big E for that evening. I was more interested in another Celestial Being that was poised to appear on the Xfinity Arena that evening, the one and only Space Ace. Ace Frehley was set to appear for one of the final dates of his East Coast leg of this tour in support of his latest album, “Space Invader”. As the sunRead More →

FASTER PUSSYCAT The Palladium Worcester, Massachusetts September 17, 2015 Photos & Review by Dan Wenc Just got back from the best Cathouse in town… Faster Pussycat played their first show in Worcester, Massachusetts since their last performance at the star studded line up of 80’s era bands at the Cathouse Live at Irvine Meadows in California in August 2015. Taime Downe made the trek to Worcester, as part of his cross country motorcycle ride #taimestrek, part of it with Riki Rachtman. The show at the Palladium in Worcester would kick off four consecutive shows in the Northeast. This was Faster Pussycat’s second show in underRead More →

MOTORHEAD September 15, 2015 Toyota Oakdale Theater Wallingford, Connecticut Over the last two weeks I had been waiting for the return of Motorhead to Connecticut, I was going to shoot and review one of Rock and Rolls biggest legends, Lemmy and Motorhead. Finally after countless shows over the years at so many different venues. The Sting in New Britain, Tuxedo Junction in Danbury, Mohegan Sun Arena, The Webster. I finally got a chance to shoot one of the hardest working bands out there. Over the week or so before their scheduled appearance I was watching with trepidation as shows were cancelled and news of Lemmy’sRead More →

The Stafford Palace Theater September 12, 2015 Stafford Springs in Northeastern Connecticut has this gem of a place called The Stafford Palace, a former Vaudeville theater with a capacity of about 400 people, with a fantastic and friendly staff who for the last three years now has been bringing some really great shows to this quiet town. A quiet that was shattered Saturday night by the arrival of three bands, Mindmaze from PA, Armored Saint from L.A. and from across the Atlantic Ocean, one of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal longest running and most underrated bands (at least here in the U.S.) Saxon.Read More →

Crossing Rubicon The Stafford Palace Theatre Stafford Springs, Connecticut September 4, 2015 Photos & Review by Dan Wenc It is really something great when you are out to see a show and the opening band is just simply amazing.  That is what happened with the opening band for House of Lords at The Stafford Palace Theater on September 4th.  Crossing Rubicon fit right in with the rock n’ metal genre and was a perfect compliment opening band for House of Lords.  Crossing Rubicon is the second generation of metal. Keeping with the sound and look of what a metal band should be.  Crossing Rubicon keptRead More →

House of Lords The Stafford Palace Theatre Stafford Springs, Connecticut September 4, 2015 Photos & Review by Dan Wenc House of Lords has been around since the later part of the 1980’s rock era. With ten studio albums under their belt, ranging between 1988 through 2015, they are still out there touring and carrying on the tradition of the 80’s era rock we still enjoy. House of Lords played an amazing performance at The Stafford Palace Theater in Stafford Springs, Connecticut September 4th, 2015. It was a homecoming of sorts, as James Christian and his counterparts originate from Connecticut. The Stafford Palace Theater is aRead More →

ADLER August 28, 2015 Mohegan Sun – Wolf Den Uncasville, CT Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den continues to feed the appetites of those of us who can’t seem to get out of the 80’s frame of metal. Adler played the Wolf’s Den at Mohegan Sun Casino. Consisting of the band’s namesake Steven Adler, drummer and former skin basher for the great and mighty Guns & Roses.  Jacob Bunton formerly of Mars Electric and current lead vocals for Lynam, brought his voice and guitar abilities, Lonny Paul on guitar also of Lynam, tying it all together Johnny Martin who played bass for The Raskins and LA Guns.Read More →

Photos & Review by Frank Piercy August 15, 2015 Last week, I attended a stag on Friday night and then just after midnight, I left for the five hour drive to Mechanic Falls, Maine to attend The Party in the Pasture Rockfest. This was going to be historic, marking the return of Jack Russell’s Great White to New England since the tragic Station Fire in Rhode Island a dozen or so years ago. There were two other highlights of the evening, a band called DMK, featuring Scotty Dunbar, a survivor of that night and Steelheart. With a half dozen other local metal bands opening. Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival: Hartford, CT – July 19, 2015 Photos & Review by Frank Piercy Mayhem… That is the best way to describe this event every year and the press leading up to this festival this year. Founders and bands blaming each other for low ticket sales and supposed weak line up. This year I actually enjoyed the fact they had only one other stage then the main stage. A lot less running around or making decisions about who to see or miss because of overlapping stage times. The day started when the gates opened at 1pm and the first band of the day hit theRead More →

Photos & review by Frank Piercy The Loft at The Chance Poughkeepsie NY July 17th 2015 Another trip into New York, another show in Poughkeepsie, another place I have never shot at before. Shooting bands I have never shot before, but at least I have seen Sister Sin before. A few years back I saw them opening for either Motorhead or Otep at the Webster, I don’t remember more than a great sounding band with a female lead singer. The night started off with a local band performing their first ever gig. I don’t remember their name. Which I think is a good thing, becauseRead More →
