Mohegan Sun – Wolf Den
Uncasville, CT
Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den continues to feed the appetites of those of us who can’t seem to get out of the 80’s frame of metal.
Adler played the Wolf’s Den at Mohegan Sun Casino.
Consisting of the band’s namesake Steven Adler, drummer and former skin basher for the great and mighty Guns & Roses. Jacob Bunton formerly of Mars Electric and current lead vocals for Lynam, brought his voice and guitar abilities, Lonny Paul on guitar also of Lynam, tying it all together Johnny Martin who played bass for The Raskins and LA Guns.
They played a great mix of Guns & Roses tunes and original music off of their disc “Back From The Dead”. Everything seemed dead on. Steven was great behind the drums and Jacob’s voice when singing the classic GnR songs, IMHO, was better than listening to Myles Kennedy’s versions. Lonny’s guitar was fantastic and he did not miss a beat. Watching Johnny play the bass, I could not help but wonder if The Ramones were an influence of his.
I wish I had a chance to see the setlist but I didn’t so I can’t give you an exact set list especially since I am not familiar with the Adler material, but they did play Night Train and Welcome to the Jungle.
These guys all played with a demeanor hardly seen in musicians from my era.
The Adler songs kicked ass and they played with reckless abandon. They were there to prove that they are not going to go anywhere without a fight first, and Jacobs interaction with the crowd was fantastic and Steven smiled throughout the whole set.
Enjoy the pics!
