One of the great things about the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den is not only that the shows are free, but the fact that Mohegan Sun is always booking such great bands, especially for fans of 80’s rock. Warrant has played the Wolf Den a number of times before this night. It was good to see them back. Warrant is one of those iconic bands of the great 80’s that seems to always be out on the road bringing the good times to the fans.
Located in the center of the casino, everyone was treated to a taste of Cherry Pie that night. Warrant took the stage in the Wolf Den in front of a crowd of fans who came out to see them and hear all Warrant classics and some newer songs from the Louder, Harder Faster album.
The near, hour and half set kicked of with “Sure Feels Good to Me”, “Down Boys” and “Big Talk”. Those three were enough Warrant to get everyone in the spirit of Warrant. The night was on. It was all about watching the band play and singing along to all the favorite Warrant hits. Robert Mason mentioned that it was somewhere about the 11th time the band had played the Wolf Den, with a thanks to the fans and places like Mohegan Sun that keep the music going by bringing them back.
Warrant is Robert Mason (vocals), Joey Allen (guitar), Erik Turner (guitar), Jerry Dixon (bass) and Steven Sweet (drums).
When it was time for “Heaven”, Robert Mason asked everyone to pull out their phones and start recording and to sing along. When it was time for “Louder, Harder, Faster”, the crowd was divided up by male and female with instructions for the sing along with the chorus. The band brought great energy to the room.
The set was a mix of all the songs we grew up on as fans, and still listen to as adults, plus newer songs from the Louder Harder Faster album. It was a great night. Everyone was entertained. A thanks to the band for still being out on the road touring. And thanks to Mohegan Sun and like venues who still continue to book these great bands of the awesome 80’s. The night concluded with “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” and “Cherry Pie”.
