UNCASVILLE, Conn. – The Mohegan Sun Arena was buzzing with excitement as rock enthusiasts gathered to witness Ace Frehley, the legendary guitarist and former member of the band KISS on this stop of his “10,000 Volts” tour. The night promised a high-voltage spectacle, and it did not disappoint, starting strong with openers Aldo Nova and Slaughter.
Aldo Nova kicked off the evening at 7:00 PM with “Monkey on Your Back,” immediately captivating the audience. Their set, a blend of hard rock classics and melodic tunes, showcased their timeless appeal. Highlights included “Heart to Heart” and “Blood on the Bricks,” but it was their closing anthem, “Fantasy,” that truly set the crowd alight. The band’s 45-minute performance was a perfect blend of nostalgia and energy, setting a vibrant tone for the night.

By 8:10 PM, Slaughter took the stage, launching into “Mad About You” with explosive energy. Mark Slaughter’s vocals soared, while Dana Strum’s bass lines and Jeff “Blando” Bland’s guitar riffs electrified the arena. Drummer Jordan Cannata delivered a spectacular solo that left the audience in awe. Their set included fan favorites like “Fly to the Angels” and a powerful cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.” They concluded with a rousing performance of “Up All Night,” seamlessly transitioning into The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” leaving the crowd craving more.

The main event began at 9:35 PM with Ace Frehley and his band taking the stage amidst roaring applause. Opening with the KISS classic “Shock Me,” Ace set the tone for an electrifying set filled with KISS hits and solo material. The band’s synergy was palpable, with each member delivering standout performances. Scott Coogan, Ryan Cook, and Jeremy Asbrock each took turns on lead vocals, adding variety and showcasing their versatility.
The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the live debut of “Cherry Medicine” from Frehley’s new album “10,000 Volts,” which was met with enthusiastic cheers. Ace’s signature guitar solo, complete with smoking effects, was a thrilling spectacle, reaffirming his status as a rock legend. The set concluded with the classic “Deuce,” but the night wasn’t over until the crowd joined in for an encore of “Rock and Roll All Night”.
The show concluded at 11:05 PM, leaving fans exhilarated and thoroughly satisfied. Ace Frehley’s “10,000 Volts” tour at Mohegan Sun Arena was a masterclass in rock performance, blending nostalgia with fresh energy and proving that rock and roll is very much alive.
